| Glade Creek is a small rural church, in the Pritchett community outside of Gilmer, Texas. We have a very informal atmosphere. We don't put much emphasis on attire - you may see suits and dresses, blue jeans and t-shirts, or sweat-suits. Many of the church members live in the area, though some travel from as far as 30 miles for services. | ||

Our morning worship service begins at 11:00 am. We don't follow a very strict format, but usually begin with a hymn sung by the congregation, followed by a prayer and the collection of an offering from our members. We do not expect visitors to contribute to the offering (but we won't turn anyone down who wants to add to the collection plate). More hymns and special music are next. We don't have a choir, but we have a few regulars who sing praises to start off our worship. Most weeks, some of the younger kids sing songs they've learned in Sunday School, or know by heart. (This is always a special treat!) No one is ever put on the spot to sing, but everyone is welcome. Our music director, Joann Smith, is the person to see if you'd like to sing with the group or bless us with a solo. Next is the presentation of a message--about 30 minutes based on selected text from the Bible. If you'd like to read along, and don't have a Bible with you, there are copies of The King James Version in each pew. |
